Maxus may not be a brand you’re immediately familiar with, but it’s the new name for what used to be LDV in the UK. That brand was acquired by the Chinese company behind MG, with Maxus vans rolled out across the world in 2020. Since then, it’s built a reputation for affordable and capable vans with impressive new electric models, too.
Key highlights
Maxus has a range of various-sized vans that focus on delivering versatility and reliability at an extremely appealing price tag for fleet managers. While the Maxus name might be relatively new to the UK, the company has been building commercial vehicles for decades and is backed by expertise behind the popular new MG models.
Maxus & EVs
As part of its entry into the UK market, Maxus is making a big push on electric vans, with the launch of the eDeliver 3 – an electric van with no diesel or petrol option. The range on both this and the larger vans are extremely competitive, too, meaning you need to make little compromise to go electric with a Maxus lease.
Top models
The Maxus range consists of the small electric-only eDeliver 3 and the eDeliver 9 large van. Both deliver as much as 200 miles of range, with generous loading room and flexibility, with various shapes and sizes. Maxus has also launched the T90EV – the first electric pickup on sale in the UK.
Similar brands
The combination of capability and price means Maxus is up against a lot of different rivals, from the all-round abilities of Ford to the more cost-conscious models from Vauxhall or Citroen.

The Maxus eDeliver 3 is a compact electric van that’s bigger than a small van but with dimensions a little below a standard mid-sized van. However, because it’s been designed as electric-only (there’s no diesel, hybrid or petrol option), Maxus has used lightweight materials to maximise range and load capacity that rivals bigger and more expensive vans.

The Maxus eDeliver 9 might not be a household name like Sprinter, Transit or Crafter, but it’s one that you should certainly consider if you’re leasing a large van. It can deliver both impressive range or huge payloads depending on the specification with multiple body and battery sizes available.

The Maxus T90EV is the first electric pickup available on sale in the UK. Designed for both on and off-road driving, the T90EV combines a stylish and sporty design with everyday practicality – all at an affordable price. That price tag is helped by the fact Maxus has managed to deliver a payload of 1,000kg and therefore the T90EV qualifies for commercial vehicle status and the subsequent appealing tax breaks for business owners.
