The C40 Recharge is a slightly sportier version of the more traditional XC40 Recharge SUV. The curved roof makes it a more stylish option while you still get the same comfort, safety and technology as the bigger Volvo models. An update in 2023, switched the C40 Recharge to rear-wheel drive making it better than ever.
Key highlights of the Volvo C40
The C40 Recharge is not just electric - it’s also incredibly sustainable inside. The leather-free cabin features environmentally-sustainable wool fibres and 100% recycled plastic bottles. The interior decor is complemented by a backlit, translucent image of the Swedish mountains on the fascia, helping the driver to feel relaxed and comfortable.
The C40 Recharge is equipped with the latest in connectivity and entertainment tech, partnering with Google to provide real-time navigational information and hands-free control. Choose between Core, Plus and Ultimate trim and you can add other accessories such as wireless phone charging and a 360-degree parking camera.
The boot is a little over 400 litres, which is plenty big enough for small families - however if you need to transport big bulky items then the XC40 Recharge is better suited as the stylish, sloping roof of the C40 does cut into luggage space a little.
Volvo C40 performance & range
The switch to rear-wheel drive and a bigger 82kWh battery means the C40 Recharge is more efficient than ever. The range-topping model is capable of up to 342 miles on a single charge, and even the lower spec options will almost reach 300 miles. The sporty looks translate onto the road, too, with an impressive 0-62mph time of under five seconds capable in the Twin motor spec.
